Are you referring to Ubuntu 11.04? I get those stupid names mixed

I have heard similar issues being discussed in other media. First,
I/we should know what desktop you are using.
Also, running xev - what keycodes do you get for the the Home and
Windows keys?

hmmm! My experience is that on ubuntu, slackware and RH the the
'windoze' key maps to mod4 - as interpreted by the ubuntu gui and
Super_L by xev.
