I was not meaning to bash it. Rather I have had gmail and Google Docs fail
to open due to outages or errors. I am thinking if Google can not even make
its own cloud reliable I would be nervous trusting my business to them. It
could cost tens of thousands an hour in lost productivity if you have
several hundred employees who can not get work done. I assume that the
servers with the documents would be on the cloud at Google, but if I had my
own server running their software I would feel more comfortable as I can get
a systems engineer to fix and look after the servers. If you use Google Docs
for homework assignments like U of A then that is fine. I wonder how
reliable is SalesForce.com as they are going after the same market by
eliminating all I.T. and having businesses rent their apps over the cloud.
