If I may insert my semi-educated thought... I'm told that you can easily
install just about any distro or distro's ISO onto flash drives using
"unetbootin":

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks cool. I was planning to use it
shortly to install the 2008 Gentoo install ISO onto a USB stick:
