Semi-OT, but since we'd be running Linux on it, and since people had
been talking about 'em in other threads ...

Summary:

I dropped by Best Buy briefly today. They've got the Dell Mini 10
iM10-008B (black) for $329. I was tempted, but waved off.

Details:

Brief specs:

10.1" display, 1024 x 576 (a little shorter than most)
1G RAM
Intel Atom N270, 533MHz FSB, 512K L2
160G SATA
HDMI out
802.11b/g (no N)
10/100 LAN
No Bluetooth that I could detect
1.3MP webcam
3 USB
small media reader
XP Home
3-cell battery (claimed 3h47m life)

A review:

http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/dell-inspiron-mini-10.aspx

The touchpad-and-buttons-as-single-unit thing is pretty irritating,
but the keyboard is roomy.

I was hoping that they would have the SSD version there as well, but
it appears not. But then I thought that maybe the Mini-PCI inside
some Dell Minis that is reserved for mobile broadband could be used
instead to *add* an SSD. Has anybody heard anything about that,
either way?
