Probably a better idea than creating even more documentation to cover
whats already covered is to teach the new user how to get this
information themselves.

The man pages are a little technical but you get used to them. This
system should be one of the first things a new user to Linux should
get familiar with. A couple of good hints would be to read the man
page for man. Show them what the man -k does and show them how to
search a man page using the '/' inside of a man page.

Explain to them that Google is their friend and wikipedia might be a
good place to get an overview of what they are trying to accomplish.
And of course, the website for the app itself might be a good resource.

Thinking about it, we should have this on our webpage and there should
be a link to it on the list email. Nothing fancy, just a few quick
notes for the new user. I would even try to draft something for review
of the whole group, if it is found to be something we would like to do.
