I suppose that is a reasonable expectation given the sorts of things I =20
talk about, however, from a productivity standpoint, I try to pick =20
mainstream distros that provide some of the 'niceties' that you find =20
in Ubuntu and their ilk.
For my workstation, I like things that 'just work'. I'm still able to =20
tweak things as needed, but I don't want to fuss around with being =20
under the hood all day.
I was a big Fedora fan for a while, but have found they aren't =20
focusing on the kinds of things that we see from the Ubuntu =20
crowd....hence the switch.
Besides, I gotta keep in the know about what most folks are =20
experiencing with regard to some of the GUI tools that are out there =20
so I can give reasonable guidance instead of saying 'OK, get a shell =20
and type....'
I know this is blasphemy in some crowds, but maybe my age is impacting me. :=
