I tried to broach this kind of thing to asd because in many respects
the student body offers a demographic mist easily addressed; and you
can imagine the response.... They are now going to dump millions into
making higher bandwidth available in school while they ignore the need
to really virtualize the classroom by making moodle accessible to the
thousands of students who do not gave home access....

As some of you know, anchorage did not respond well to a board
candidate trying to address such issues, and with Sullivan moving into
the mayors digs and hiring Vihalis social needs will likely be out of
focus for a bit .......

But, I think an effort by a group to leverage multiple sources of
funds (such as the rasmussen foundation, stimulus funding, corporate
largess, erate, etc) to address educational access might just be
possible.

Consider ATT offering free or reduced wimax for eligible families with
hardware costs funded by stim funds and the rasss providing some admin
funding to keep asd and atts feet in the fire.... But would aklug
want to take on such a venture???
