Stack up on Cisco (ccna and ccna-security), LPI and then specialize. If ya
get bored, tag the Linux+, Network+ and security+ just for the hell of it -
there's content in those tests. Once grounded in the Cisco area choose
either ccnp or ccsp, both have power and are fairly easy to renew once the
time arrives. You can't go wrong with the sans or isc paths either. The
cisco/unix/security combination is powerful and seems to fill a niche that's
not easy to fill. So far I've never ran across a CCIE or CCNP who didn't
know their craft, sure they're out there but just haven't seen one yet. I
generally have a lot of respect for the upper Cisco, Sans and ISC certs -
they're not easy to get. Aside from technical certs, go to school for
business, dear god those cats make a killing!
