Can ACPI be disabled after the fact? I'm running XP as a guest. Works
fine, but reclaiming a few more cpu cycles never hurts...

No it can't. You will need to reinstall Windows. But it is well
worth it. On my PC, running a Windows XP guest with ACPI enabled takes
about 15% of my CPU time. Without ACPI the XP guest only takes 2 to 3%.
