Not quite following you. It is possible to build a Debian, or any Linux
system, box from DVDs or CDs on a nearby computer.

If you have access to the Debian DVD/CD collection and are apparently
able to boot the network install CD, why not install from the collection?

If you need access to the Debian DVD/CD collection, you could also show
up for one of the Friday Night sessions. I think there is often a
portable Debian/Ubuntu mirror there for local network installs.

Maybe you're trying to do a network install from a nearby computer with
the Debian install ISO loopback mounted? Is your laptop CD only and
you're trying to work with an install DVD? Is your laptop able to boot
from CD?

If the only networking you have available is a wireless that is not
natively supported (needs Ndiswrapper?), you may need to borrow or buy a
network card that is natively supported.
