Recently there was conversation about my broken having trouble with an =20
older DLINK 624. I had been asking around and there were lots of =20
great suggestions.
I ended up with a DIR-655 from DLINK. Obviously, there wasn't time or =20
money to look at them all, but this one had the features I liked:
- port forwarding
- DHCP reservations
- scheduling for firewall rules (to turn off internet access at =20
night for kids)
There were two features I didn't like:
- Java required to login to the device (this breaks ddclient)
- it was over $100 (Costco had it for $129?)
It did have an internal ddclient, but I have several DDNS hosts that =20
are setup. I'll be able to work around it though.
There is a QOS feature that I'm interested in trying since my most =20
recent try to use Skype with video ended up with the far side not =20
being able to see my video.
Love to hear others comment about this.
