I realize Mike wasn't really asking for someone to up a new list server,
but I've been running a Mailman list server for several years and I
would be glad to offer the service to this group gratis. Currently I've
got a couple lists near 400 subscribers and about a dozen smaller ones.
The searchable archives on the oldest list go back to 2002.
