Stan,

I think this article echos our current situation. There were some
important points that are worth repeating:

- people wait for someone else to do something
- lack of interesting topics
- not many folks with experience and ability invest a whole lot in the LUG
- no one wants LUG's to go away
- they provide a place for professionals, students, etc to meet

And most of all I think this last quote sums up our group:

--quote--
Foster sums it up. "You've got a group of people who are generally
extraordinary. They're fairly knowledgeable about a pretty technical
field. They're generally courteous and good-humored and willing to
help, for free. While we don't all attend barbecues at each other's
houses, and we may not agree on politics or religion, we still can
count on each other more or less as friends. That's not a bad reason to
have a group together." --quote--

I think we can overcome any possibility of the first 3 bullets coming
true. What do others think? Am I way off here?

Mike B.
