I haven't tested this myself, but if you're talking about Intel's High Def
Audio (as part of the Centrino chipset) then the following should work in
/boot/defaults/loader.conf:

    sound_load="YES"
    snd_ich_load="YES"

I'm assuming 6.x works the same as 5.x, of course.
