I just got a phone call from a random guy who read a comment I posted in
the paper, wondering about linux - he was given a Ubuntu CD from the
Alaska Computer Source on 36th.
He tracked me down, and asked if there was a place where AKLUG meets,
etc - I gave him where, and when.
So:
His name is Bernard Wheeler, and he's got a PII with Win2k on it. He
wants to install ubuntu (although I'm sure he'd install anthing - he's
never done this before) but it won't boot to it.
If someone could make sure to be there, perhaps with a spare CDROM drive
and cable, and some CDs, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. I told him to
arrive between 7 and 7:30 PM . I myself won't be in town this Friday.
