Thank you all for your overwhelming help! The owner of the laptop is out to
get a new one. If I can get this one from him when he goes to trash it, I'll
boot up the debian that Eddie suggested and pop it open if I have to to see
if the innards came loose. If I get to do this, I'll post results.
