    I also have an HPzv6000, and while I haven't tried Debian amd64, I have
had good success with Knoppix 3.9 (debian based), except for the Broadcom
wireless 802.11b/g. While not having wireless is not a major factor for much
of my use for the laptop yet, I have thought about converting from XP to
Linux on it so I would be most interested in what you find out. I may try
installing Suse 10 on it at some point, in which case I will post my success
or issues........
