Re: AKLUG mirror server

I'm sure the case could be put to use by somebody!

So far: we have:

Case, motherboard, processor.
Video card.
2 Ethernet nics from Anthony.
1 ethernet card from Jim Gribbin if he can find one.
1 Ethernet card from me.
2 SCSI, 2G hard drives, as boot.
75+33 bucks for hard drives. (50 oliver, 25 me, 33 Anthony).

We need RAM (133 MHz is best, since we have a 733 MHz processor), and
the drives now.

The system has a SCSI CDROM too, but the little adapter thingy from 68
pin to 50 pin is missing. It is currently running ubuntu hoary, since I
wanted to make sure everything works. It's borrowing RAM from one of my
workstations.

Seriously now: We need a recommendation for a distro. I don't expect
people all appreciate ubuntu. Ideally, the system would allow easy
setup and management of LVM. I'm about to toast some centOS cds if no
one pipes up!

Anthony: Thanks for your help, too, by the way. I could probably arrange
a time with you to pick stuff up, since you work fridays.
