Okay, those specs just confused the hell out of me, so perhaps some of our
resident network gurus can set me straight. It says that it supports only two
port-based VLANs, which to me, says that untagged frames will be tagged
automatically based on point of ingress (VLAN 1 on ports 1 - 24, and VLAN 2 on
ports 25 - 50).

Beyond that it supports 64 static VLAN groups, which means what? I understand
that a lot of switches/routers can only handle n number of active VLANs, but
TCI format gives twelve bits for the ID. Does "static" infer that instead of
supporting 64 arbitrary IDs from a range of 1 - 4094 it only allows you to
choose from 1 - 64? And if there are only two PVIDs does this mean that
they're relying on host-side intelligence to discard frames from VLAN IDs
they're not listening specifically for?
