I think we need a little more info on you situation.

   1. Did you compile PHP from source or did you install an rpm?
   2. Is the "with-imap" part of Apache or PHP?

If it's part of PHP then that's the only thing you will need to
recompile. If you compiled from source. If you installed PHP using an
rpm then you may be able to find an rpm with the "with-imap". If you
installed using an rpm you could uninstall the rpm and compile from source.

I install apache and php from source. I'll send you my documentation.
