What's your kernel rev? Something broke the bridged interface on Linux hosts
starting w/kernel 2.12. There's an unofficial patch that you can apply from a
Vmware employee that fixes the problem. Recompile the kernel modules, and
all's good.

I've tested the patch against Workstation v5 for Linux, I don't know if it'll
solve similar problems on other versions of vmware...
