I don't know if this helps or not, but I used to have a PNY Attache 128
(has since died) that would always give messages about 'invalid block
device' and perhaps even 'no medium found' iirc=2E=2E Even with these err=
or
messages, it always mounted fine, so I always just ignored them=2E This w=
as
with Gentoo=2E

So, even if you get error messages, check to make sure it didn't actually
mount after all=2E =20

Note: it also does the same thing with my new USB keychain, which is a
SimpleTech (or something like that) from Sam's Club=2E

Subject: mount attache usb jump drive

Trying to mount a PNY "Attache" 256 mb usb drive on a redhat linux box=2E

We have the drive identified as /dev/sda a mount point exists and there is=

an entry in
fstab to wit:

/dev/sda1 /mnt/flash auto user

Comes back with a "no medium present" Also dmesg makes noise about the siz=
e
being 1Gb
but know it is a 256m device?

Any tricks or howto's? I have mounted other usb devices with vfat
filesystems on them,
but I haven't had any luck with usb flash memory unless it is in a card
reader=2E I figure
there has to be a way=2E
