hmmmm,

ssh + wget? put into motion with a nice little "add url here and press enter" script?
perl cgi with wget? looking, looking, looking, uh huh,

This sounds fun, I'm gonna write something like this. Keep it simple. Like a small
web daemon like webfsd (https) and a wget script. Hmm, maybe I'll just use the above. lol.
The whole wheel analogy again...
