If anyone can shed light - or maybe tell me about how
ACS 768/128 is,
I'd like to know.

Just FYI, right now I have ~3 Mbit down/256k up
(420kbytes/sec by 28
kbytes/sec) for 60 bucks a month (45 if I had cable
TV). For 2.4
Mbit/256 on gci, I'm soaked 170...

yea, that sounds like we had it a few months back at
alaska used computer source where i worked till then.
no download limit, charles called me the "iso king" we
did have quite a few conectivity probs though. i argued
with "tech support" more than once, only getting
anywhere after after no less than 15 -30 mins each
time, and only when confronted with tracerouts etc. had
one telling me it wasnt an acs prob when she duplicated
the prob and couldnt ping one of their own servers, in
their own building. wasnt till after one of her
supervisors stepped in and said, yes it is, we'll check
it out. but this is gonna be a prob with every isp in
anchorage. i cant count the number of times ive seen
messages come thru on aklug asking/stating probs about
(fill in name of favorite isp here). even if you had a
oc3 installed at your place it would happen, its the
nature of the beast in anchorage, its connected thru a
loooooog cable/fiber/satalite link, and anything and
everything can knock one of them out. what id like to
know is where your at that your getting such good rates
on such speed, so i can imigrate that way (drools all
over hisself) im sorta stuck in winlock wa at the
moment, cant even get dsl or cable. can the next town
over, just not here lol
