vi & no such session

Today, while rolling the latest KDE via Konstruct, my net connection cut
out on me. After Konstruct's build died, my elvis/vi died as well.
Whenever I start vi, I receive no such session and my prompt tabs in. I
can make my display sane but I have no vi access as user or root. The
'net has scant record of this error and no solutions that I found.

Has anyone experienced this and how would one rectify it? Thanks!
