RE: Fedore Core Test 3

I'm going to have to VMware that one. I wasn't too awful impressed with FC1,
though many seem to love it. Sweet...it's based on the 2.6 kernel. I just
compiled 2.6.5 on my Slackware-current box the other day and I am impressed.
NFSv4 is such a beautiful and needed upgrade. I can't wait to setup the
role-based access control/mandatory access control options that are
available through SElinux (thx NSA) included directly into the 2.6 kernel. I
honestly didn't see that one coming...Hopefully the benefits of a properly
implemented Mandatory Access Control scheme will start to be noticed by the
development community with this. Just imagine the disappointment of a
would-be 'system compromiser' when his 0-day remote root buffer overflow
exploit fails to produce the system privileges he would normally expect.
Maybe I'm looking a little far into the future...I imagine that its going to
take a modest amount of time before an access control method other than the
normal Discretionary Access Control(DAC) is implemented properly...but hey,
its one hell of a start!

 Yeah, yeah..

It's downloading, it's downloading.

I'm grabbing the regular ISOs, plus the DVD iso.

Whee!

And I finally got my disk space upgraded, although not
everything is migrated over, so it's actually living
on a temporary server...

be patient. It'll take a while. When you see the MD5SUM file, it
should be done.
