Run PQM from floppies not the hard drive.

Vers. 6 was just starting to handle linux partitions. The current version
is better.

I am not familiar with all of the features supplied by PM, but parted
allows resizing of ext2, ext3, and fat file systems. I don't know if it
can do this dynamically so you might need a boot disk (Knoppix,
SuperRescue, etc.) to use it on a / partition.
