In the "old" days, folks use to see how long it took to compile the kernel.
This ends up being a pretty good real world scenario.

Subject: Linux Benchmarking

Does anyone have any recommendations on benchmarking programs for Linux
(besides the compile-the-kernel-with-a-stopwatch test) I am mostly
interested in cpu & memory speed tests.

Thanks,
Justin
