also just got to thinking, fonts are always a problem, so maybe there's
a font issue.
So I made sure that the xfs was running on the host, and then from a
cygwin bash shell, I tried:
$ xwin.exe :1 -query 192.168.12.5 -fp tcp/192.168.12.5:7100 &
here's the log:
Aug 13 15:39:54 bridget mdkkdm[23829]: server open failed for 0.0.0.0:1,
giving up
Aug 13 15:39:54 bridget mdkkdm[1055]: Display 0.0.0.0:1 cannot be opened
------------------------------
So there's no change. I'm thinking that for some clearly obvious reason
that the client ip address is available to the host display manager, tho
the host shells don't seem to have a problem with resolving it. Any
ideas?
