rambus/rdram question

I've never had to deal with rambus/rdram before. I have a system here that has two 64meg sticks, and two other sticks, that look like just dummy sticks. I want to upgrade the ram.

Are they like the old simms where all the pairs had to be the same size, or can I have different sized pairs. I.e. can I have a pair of 64 and a pair of 256, or would I have to take out the pair of 64 and replace them with a pair of 256?
