$~> rpm -q -l libpanel-applet-2_0-2.2.0.1-6mdk
/usr/lib/libgen_util_applet-2.so
/usr/lib/libpanel-applet-2.so.0
/usr/lib/libpanel-applet-2.so.0.0.13

if you don't get that, you'll need to install that RPM
from the CD as well...

if you do have it installed, you can try:

PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr:/usr/X11R6:/usr/local:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/
X11R6/lib:${PKG_CONFIG_PATH}
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH

yeah, i specified the roots and the lib dirs explicitly, since I don't
know what
this application wants.. should be sufficient.

Be aware that there may be a -devel version of this RPM that
you need to install as well
