If you suspect a heat issue, a lot of bios' have a temperature
monitoring page. It sounds like whatever is happening is happening
fairly quickly. You could watch the monitoring page and see if something
is rising too quickly, or a fan not running up to speed.

It could also be the power supply going out or voltage regulation on the
motherboard.
