Personally I use a Xircom Ethernet/Modem PCMCIA card... instantly
recognized and it gives me the advantage of having the network right
there also...

Works fine for:
        Redhat 3.X -> Current
        SuSE 4.X ->Current

Debian is still giving me fits... although I'm currently working on it.

I have a Creative Labs Modem Blaster that works great under RedHat 7.3.
I haven't tried RH8, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

I rarely use it, so you can borrow it if you want to test it out. Just
e-mail me and let me know.

UNIX was not designed to stop you from doing stupid things, because
that would also stop you from doing clever things.
