Was there any reason given why Kmail 1.4.1 sends these extra characters in
e-mail?

an area of =
260 =D7=20
140 pixels. " =20

I remember the issue coming up before, and after a quick search
of the archives all I found was the possibility of the iso-8859-1
character encoding causing a problem. ISTR sending messages to the list
using iso-8859-1 without any problems though. As a test, this message is
using iso-8859-1 instead of us-ascii.

It's not a big issue - I can read Adam's messages, it is just a little
distracting & I was curious as to the cause if anyone knows it.

Cheers,

James
