I guess I cheat and burn them to a CD-RW every so often, along with my
RedHat up2date archive. But I do an `apt-get autoclean` regularly to
clean out cruft. One only needs so many versions of glibc hanging
around. (I have one box that has been continuously updated from
2.2r0 to what I guess is now 3.0r1 - I'm curious as to just how big
the archive would have gotten had I left it alone).

There is supposedly a way to set one box up as a local depository for
apt so it's archives become the source for other boxes on the LAN to
update from, and you only have to download the .debs once. However
I've always been too lazy to set it up that way and never get close to
my bandwidth cap amyway so don't worry about it.

Cheers,

James
