I found a modem at Wal-Mart this afternoon. On the SuSE website, it is
listed as being compatible with Linux. I hope so. If not I'll go and get the
3Com at CompUSA.

3Com makes a PCI modem that they advertise as being Linux compatable,
states it right on the box. I haven't tried it, but I have seen them at
CompUSA. Otherwise, I think almost any external serial-port modem
should work. I haven't heard anything about USB externals.
