I tend to think of anything connected to a phone line as modem. But now that
I have embarrassed myself silly perhaps I will not forget it :)
As you summarized, I meant the ACS DSL. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Do you mean ACS DSL? In that case, you want to take a look at 'pppoe'.
Or if you mean a GCI cable modem, then you should be able to get it set
up no problem with DHCP..
