Subject: CD-RW as a writeable drive

Can I use my CD-RW drive as a writable drive just like a zip disk? I
haven't found how to do this yet. I have see the cdrecord program but I
was hoping to be able to put a file system on a rewritable disk and
mount it and then issue commands like cp or mv to files on the disk. Is
this possible? If so could you point me to some info on how to do this,
what file system to use or any help would be appreciated.
