I doubt it, you do choose one or the other if you are using KDM or GDM
to log on. They both look the same with Blueecurve though. The ability
to run a QT or GTK based app doesn't depend on which desktop you
choose. KDE & Gnome apps work very well on either one so I guess making
them both look the same does away with the deciding which one to use &
on to running applications.
