I saw today RH is letting 8 (called Psyche) out next week. I few things struck me funny about this release. The addition of the "personal desktop", in addition to the common 'server' choice.
Another eye catcher, "Bluecurve". I guess bluecurve is a new desktop interface....Not to clear on this, but from what I understand, it's built to bridge KDE and Gnome together, creating better compatibilty.
NO mp3 software (xmms ect.). I guess this is due to legal issues, and of course to push the better quality OggVorbis format.
Back to Bluecurve....I'm not sure I like this. Essentilly, RH is taking control over KDE. They have cutomized K's menu selections so there is only one web browser, Mozilla. Not Konqueror. All this, and of course, they have added a few more little Red Hats here and there. (No gear button(kde) or footprint(gnome)).
I understand RH is trying to make Linux more mainstream (and hopefuly have plans to wipe out M$) and user friendly, but I feel they are getting away from traditions.

Anyway, just my thoughts on RH8.
