No flames, just sharing experience...
I've installed quite a few Mandrake boxes, and rarely had a
problem...especially when the hardware is "old" and well-supported, but even
when it's tweaky. I've managed to install Mandrake 8.2 on a P133 Compaq
Armada with 16MB of RAM. :) The installer allows you to save the install
layout so you can do a fully automated install on subsequent machines (I
think Redhat does this too). Mandrake's installer is very easy to use, very
well laid out, and will hand-hold through the tough stuff if you want it to.
