What is the command to connect to an OSX box from a Freebsd or Linux box? I
have tried mount mount_smb smbmount smbclient and have read all about how
cool the new OSX box works with samba. I am trying to tar and gzip an folder
then move it over to the OSX box so that it can be backed up nightly.

Also, I need to write a script or something that will do this nightly and
name it 20020715 then increment it the next night by 1 eg 20020716 and I was
also thinking that if the mount didnt happen to work on a particular night
it could move it over to another file and send me an email telling me
"...that things didnt really work out."

I know im asking alot for this second question, but what should I use,
perl, shellscript,c? I am not a programmer at all and have not a clue as to
the commands I will need so I cant look them up on the web to try and
understand how to do it. Any help, advice or sites with info I would really
appreciate.

Jon
