slack is lame at sound? i've been using slack for years and this is news
to me. i've never had a problem getting sound to work (well, except for
when i got an sblive card before creative released it's opensource
driver). the card you want to get working and the quality of the driver
are the factors determining the ease of setting it up on slack. if it's
a soundblaster card i can guarantee you it's a no brainer. if the driver
is included with the kernel it's even easier...
