The key here is that these are all 2.2.x libraries, which means
that you can expect them to be compatible. If you wanted to go
from 2.2.x to 2.3.x, that would be worth more concern.
I upgraded my glibc, and don't recall any difficulties or ill
effects from it. It may be as simple as installing the new
packages. (If you install Slackware packages, get both 'glibc'
and 'glibso'.) If you want to install from source, be sure and
read the instructions.
Of course, it's best to leave your libc alone unless you have
a reason to upgrade.
