Suse 8.0 woes

My new Suse 8.0 installation installed fine, and I was able to go in and play around with KDE. But
when I rebooted, during the startup screen it gets hungup on "Running /etc/init.d/boot.local" and
won't go any further. But if I startup in Safe mode, it boots up normally (although in safe mode).
How do I find out what the trouble is in the boot.local?
I've reinstalled the new Suse 8.0 three times now, and I still have this problem.
