USB network interface cards are not currently recognized by Red Hat
Linux 7.1."

I don't know if it was a problem with the actual ethernet drivers like
kaweth.o, or if it was a problem with the USB controllers - ISTR a lot
of mail on the RedHat Seawolf list about various controllers not working
or having problems. It could be that your combination worked, but that
so many other combinations didn't work RedHat put that notice up. Hard
to tell with a blanket statement like the above quote.
