i used xmps before the development ceased. i'm pretty sure it's been
over a year since it's last release. a while back i switched to xine and
have been very happy with it. you can find it at
http://xine.sourceforge.net/. what turned me on to it was it's support
for a ton of formats and codes such as:
File formats (System layer / media types) supported:
* direct DVD playback (of unlocked/unencrypted DVDs, see below)
* Video CD
* mpeg program streams (.mpg, .mpeg)
* mpeg transport streams (.ts)
* ogg (.ogg)
* avi (.avi)
* asf (.asf, .wmv)
* quicktime (.mov)
* mpeg-video (.mpv, .m2v)
* mpeg-audio (.mp2, .mp3)
currently unsupported Formats:
* real (.rm, .ra, .ram)
i can live with a media player that only doesn't support real player
files. it's worth a look. also, let me know if you need the win32 dlls.
