  I'm just curious: What was the xubuntu version? I infer from
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads that lubuntu 14.04 is
  available.

  NOTE: I use lubuntu with fluxbox on several legacy netbooks, and
  ubuntu 14.04 with fluxbox (primarily) on my 2011 Mac Mini. 

  I find ubuntu on the Mini to be far superior in speed, memory
  usage and general performance to the OS X 10.7 partition.
