I used to use Puppy a lot, I had some custom recovery CDs/thumbdrives based
on Puppy, even with a persistent partition. I used it most in this interim
time when super low resource computers were the norm (pentium D days),
where even Xubuntu seemed bloated. I even put it on a couple of thinclients
and used them as a little computer in the kitchen or garage for the odd web
surfing there (before tablets became ubiquitous). I rarely tweaked it,
other than adding a few packages for smartmontools or assembling
fakeraid/mdraid and clamav, things commonly need for troubleshooting
windows computers.
