Compared to BSD, Openindiana is pretty understaffed -but appears to be
actively developed. All the activity seems to be happening on their
"hipster" branch (which is a rolling release).
Couldn't hurt to download an iso and throw it into virtualbox and see
what you think. Just remember to update with "sudo pkg update".

Openindiana IS finicky about hardware, tho (it won't boot on my box, so
I'm stuck with virtualbox).
